Kodi Thumbnails is a Kodi add-on. More information on Kodi Thumbnails may be found on its website or YouTube. The quality of Kodi Thumbnails is generally regarded as satisfactory by users. It has a one-star rating from the majority of users.
Within Kodi, Pictures allow you to view your images. It offers the advantage of integrating all of your media – videos, music, and photos – in one place and making it accessible. Slideshows can be viewed while music plays, or comics can be read on the huge screen.
Steps in Getting Kodi Addons Thumbnail
Pictures are a straightforward file viewer and browser. Pictures currently lack the feature set and adaptability of the Video and Music Libraries because it does not use a database in storing information. However, it is on the Must-To-Do list for future releases.
For any edited artwork or fanart presented in the GUI, whether from an internet source server or the local file system, Kodi keeps a texture cache on the local device storage. These textures and data have been optimized and cached locally for faster loading. (Read What is a Brute Force Attack and What to Do About It)
When you add the artwork to your file library, Kodi has a path to the artwork or URL at first. When the image is displayed in the GUI or other interface, such as the Chorus web interface, the artwork is downloaded and cached.
Except for textures provided by the skin, all pictures or files loaded by Kodi are cached in the user data/Thumbnails folder.
Take Note: As explained on the accompanying artwork pages, it is not possible to disable or delete the artwork cache for a while and operate solely from locally saved artwork.
1. Adding Pictures
Adding picture sources is the same as adding video and music sources. So don’t get confused relating it to a video process. See the guide steps on adding Video Sources for a refresher. The only change is that you’ll begin in the Pictures menu, with all references to Video files being replaced with Pictures.
2. RAW Formats
In version 18, support for RAW picture types has been restored and improved. If you’re adding Sources with RAW picture types, you’ll need to do the steps below to see them:
Libraw image decoder is a binary add-on that can be found under Add-ons My add-ons image decoder.
If the first step fails to display your RAW images, add an item to the advancedsettings.xml specifying the RAW files you want Kodi to show. (Learn How To Install Aftershock On Kodi)
If you’re unsure, add the following code to display all supported RAW formats. Do not duplicate the advancedsettings> tags if you have the advancedsettings.xml.

3. Format (Stereoscopic)
This has the same steps as the RAW formats described above.
Allow the add-on binary MPO image decoder (Add-ons My add-ons Image decoder) under Add-ons My add-ons.
If the first step fails to display your RAW images, add a line to the advancedsettings.xml specifying the Stereoscopic file formats you want Kodi to show. If you’re not sure, use the code below. Do not duplicate the advancedsettings> tags if you have an advancedsettings.xml.

4. Viewing Photographs
Kodi will cache the thumbnails when the photo list is browsed in a folder or library after adding the Source(s) for Pictures. This will speed up the picture lists in the future.
To see an image, click on it using the left and right arrows to travel back and forth through the photographs. Below are the keystrokes that will disclose additional functionality.
5. Slideshow
You can start the slideshow by trying the listed keystrokes in the table presented. Also, you can select it using the Sideblade menu on the left corner.
The options that are accessible in the Menu on Left Sideblade are listed below:

The photographs in the list will be used in the designed slideshow.
Slideshow with Recursion
The photographs in the presented list and any subdirectories will be used in the slideshow. This option can be activated only when sub-directories with images that are valid are found.
Randomize
The sequence of the photographs in the slideshow will be combined. The options page can also be configured for permanent randomization.
You can personalize the choices on the settings of Player for portraits or pictures:
- Throughout a slideshow, the time for each photograph is displayed. And it is set for 5 seconds for each photograph.
- Zoom effects and Slideshow Pan can be activated or deactivated. By default, the option for Enabled Randomize Slideshows is turned on. The default setting is, in short, deactivated. However, it can be allowed temporarily from the menu on the left sideblade for the presented slideshow.
- The Settings next is the Player, and of course, Pictures is an excellent place to start.
You can personalize the options on the corner of Media Settings for portraits or pictures:
- Information from the EXIF file will be displayed.
- You can create thumbnails automatically.
- In the listings, it shows your video files.

Throughout a slideshow, you can also zoom in on photographs. It will only take place of the previous image when you cancel the zoom.
